CHALLENGE:

Campus living villages is a global company that create student accommodation precincts for universities across Australia. CLV were required to relocate from their existing Walsh Bay tenancy and required a space within the center of the CBD in a building and space that reflected their young and sophisticated business culture and to reorganize and unify their current business departments. CLV’s brief included a dedicated Video conference lounge facility, call center, funky breakout space, open plan work space with phone rooms and a reception and boardroom that was flexible and catered for staff and board meetings and functions.

SOLUTION:

Insight Projects was not only appointed to provide the Design Project and Construction Management of the new head quarters in Sydney but also assisted in the very early stages of the site selection process to ensure the best possible fit for the client. Insight worked closely with the client to create a front of house reception design that was to reflect a relaxed and modern atmosphere through use of warm, contemporary and textured finishes that would complement the installation of some modern artwork pieces. The back of house workspace was to offer a balance of interactive open plan settings and various enclosed casual meeting areas and quiet and phone rooms with a more vibrant approach in terms of colour palette and use of wall graphics and film to glass that instilled their core values and branding.

RESULTS:

Located in the heart of the Sydney CBD ,1 Margaret street became the new home for the 77 CLV staff.

The delivery of the project saw the reception feature large oak veneer pivot doors that opened up the boardroom to the reception waiting area, allowing acoustic and visual privacy when meetings are in progress and when open to allow views across Sydney harbour and toward the new Barangaroo development. Turning up the fun vibe, the breakout design was a quirky mix of patterned fabrics and finishes, custom neon sign and green wall to provide an eclectic industrial feel. Phone rooms with bright painted angle wall detail and phone booth decals added burst of colour to open plan and the feature laser cut black and ply screens provide not only complemented the dynamic direction but also provided some privacy to ends of workstation clusters.
